As I sit here in Sigiriya, approaching my last few days in Sri Lanka, I’m reflecting back over the past two weeks that have been absolutely mind blowing.
I am still pinching myself as I can’t believe that I have left footprints all over this little piece paradise.
Just a few months ago Sri Lanka had never even crossed my mind. I’d never heard of how wonderful it was, and how it had every possible component that anyone needed to experience the trip of a lifetime.
One of the best parts of this journey was my stay at Era Beach by Jetwing. Located on the Southern Coast in Thalpe, less than 25 minutes from the famous Galle Fort; I was lucky enough to stay in one of the few Colonial style luxury villas, that sit directly on a Southern Beach front, 170 km from the Bandaranaike International Airport.
Tucked away just far enough to feel as though you are bit secluded, this gem is still close enough to reach any conveniences that you may need.
When you enter this property you are immediately met by the biggest draw. The beautiful and striking ocean. You can hear her rise up to greet you, and you can feel her breeze embrace you.
The open layout with the pool aligning itself with the beach front, sends a strong message of extravagance and exclusivity. This property’s design is very unique.
I was immediately taken to a seat that offered me the perfect view, and a member of the staff brought me a cool towel and a glass of fresh juice.
Shortly after I was led up a grand flight of stairs that took me to my warm and comfortable room, complete with a private patio, offering me a stunning view of the ocean.
The wood was dark and rich, the ceilings were high, and the art was simple and clean with a traditional colonial feel.
The bed stood tall and had an air of grandeur. The bathroom had a somewhat rustic feel, complete with concrete like walls and floors, and skylights up above.
I loved the space and appreciated the comfort that it offered, however; I spent most of my time out on the grounds, laid back enjoying the breathtaking view.
The bar situated just behind me, made it all the more relaxing and convenient.
One day the staff arranged a tuk tuk driver to take me to Galle Fort and it was all that I’d ever dreamed of.
The views there were amazing. The seafood was delicious, and the cute little shops were tons of fun to walk through.
It rained while I was there, so my day was cut a little short, but I didn’t mind, because I knew that I had such a beautiful place to go back to in Era Beach by Jetwing.
Some evenings, I’d lay across the bed and enjoy my Sri Lankan dinner, but I especially enjoyed the mornings where I would eat breakfast out on my private patio, while admiring the beauty of the crystal blue water before me.
Era Beach by Jetwing was one of my first stops in Sri Lanka, and I am so grateful. They offered me the perfect welcome to the beautiful Country, and I will never forget how they made me feel.
If you ever find yourself wanting to experience a beach vacation in a luxury villa, near Galle, be sure to check out Era Beach by Jetwing and tell them that I sent you.
