I wanted to share a few photos from my recent solo trip to France. I went this past year for my 36th Birthday. I didn’t realize at the time how heartbroken I was, once again by my toxic family dynamics but as I booked the flight I knew that my soul needed something BIG…..I’m glad that despite my hesitation I did.
I thought about trying to eloquently blog every detail, but the truth of the matter is its been several months since I landed back in the states. While the memories are still quite fresh, I just don’t see the need to try to “fake” a fresh approach.
In a nutshell, it was a fairly quick trip. I was there for about a week and spent most of my time in Paris, and took a long day trip to Normandy which was my favorite part of the experience. Being the History Buff that I am at times, I absolutely loved the trip to the D-Day Beaches and World War II Memorials.
The most memorable and weird thing for me was how aggressive the men were. Some of them were scary aggressive. found that finding vegetarian options besides bread was really tough.
Another thing that stood out for me is that finding vegetarian options besides bread was challenging.
I felt extremely safe as I walked through the city. People were extremely accommodating and friendly. I opted to take the subways and I can’t tell you how many times people approached me attempting to communicate in French. I was dying to know what they were saying, but I was clueless. Things were moving so fast I couldn’t use my handy translation app.
That’s about all I’ve got folks, I’ll let my pics do the rest of the talking.
