Thank you for coming along on this travel journey with me. I can't believe that we are finally here.
My full-time travel agenda is set for the next six months. After leaving my beautiful loft apartment in December 2016, my first stop was Denver Colorado. I'll never forget the feeling as I walked up and down 16th Street. I smiled and I spoke to strangers. I called up friends and told them of my adventures and my joy.
You see, traveling was nothing new to me. I'd done quite a bit of it for a few years leading up to all of this, but something about this trip was very different. Instead of getting dropped off at the airport by a private car service, I had to drive myself to a remote lot and catch a shuttle over instead. A far cry from the 5 Star hotels that I was accustom to, I actually did a couch surf with a member of a travel group that I'd only recently joined. Now you may think that the car service and the 5 star hotel sound ideal, but if you are anything like me, peace, freedom and true happiness are all much more important than material things and cush accommodations.
My trip to Denver was a significant turning point for me. The start of a life brand new. As I drove to the airport, parked my car, jumped into the shuttle and headed over, I chatted with the driver and the others that were riding along with me. For the first time in a long time, I was completely free from anxiety.
When I arrived to the apartment that I'd be staying at in Denver; Claudia whom I'd chatted with for a few weeks leading up to the trip met me with a warm smile. I felt peaceful, and I had an instinct knowing that I was more than welcome. As I walked around Denver and checked my desires off of my list, there was no time crunch, no long hours to be worked and demands to get things done. Finally I wasn't looking out of a penthouse window wishing I could just get out there and commune with the locals.
I was as FREE as a Bird! I'd drank a Bloody Mary and had a yummy breakfast and I had the freedom to drank two or even three if I chose to. The only limitation was that I didn't have a company card, but the truth of the matter is I now have my own company card with my own company name on it.
My trips, my agendas and my purpose are now all my own! FINALLY! I can't tell you how long I felt trapped in a system that wasn't welcoming me. My purpose in sharing my story, the ups and the downs is to be a living example for women and girls alike.
I am far from a trust fund baby and never had the support of anyone. Yes, this is true and not an exaggeration. As far back as I can remember I've always had to make a way for myself. From getting myself through college to navigating my career to being a full-time, traveling entrepreneur.
You are reading a blog that is a result of me simply reading, googling, watching videos, investing in guidance and asking questions. I literally had NO TRAINING whatsoever in graphics or WordPress. I'm aware that it may not be an award winning site, but I'm damn proud of it.
Listen, your goal may not be to live a nomadic lifestyle or to travel at all. You may have some other goal that you desire or are working towards. Whatever it is that you desire, I'm here to tell you that if you want it bad enough, you are persistent, you believe that its possible and you ask the right questions at the right time. YOU TOO CAN DO IT!
